Hi everyone! Welcome one more time to our English section where you can find interesting websites and ideas to improve your learning of English as a second language.
I would like to introduce you a website called TUNE INTO ENGLISH. If you are keen on music and English this is the place you to be.
Songs are a great way to practice both listening and – if you sing along – pronunciation. This fun website lets you test your skills.
As it is stated in their website using songs is meaningful because songs are part of our life. Most of us are interested in songs an so it can be highly motivating and of course we must point out they are memorable. This is because when listening to songs we are reinforcing active listening and consolidating language, grammar and pronunciation as well. Songs are easier to remember that a long list of vocabulary and singing a song lifts your spirit and makes you feel in a good mood too.
To use the resources available within this website you will have to register. In this sense you need an email account and to choose your username. Once you have done this you will receive an email with a password and a link. Click on the link and place your username and the provided password. Then you will be directed to a new page where you need to enter your first and las name as well as your new password. Now you are ready!
The website offers several areas of interest. If you go to the Teachers´ area there is what it is called worksheets. There you will be able to find over 350 songs. You just have to pick one of them and you will be able to download the correspondent worksheet in pdf format for each one of them. The students´ area offers other possibilities. There are several areas of interests: Speak up; Games and activities; Explanations; Charts and Trivia and Media and News. Speak Up magazine offers a section for self-study worksheets and lyrics analysis, with audio. At the Games/Activities part you will be able to find fun ways to practice your English through music. The section called Explanations offers some analysis, translation, facts and lyrics.
